The ninth season of Ryan Murphy’s spine-tingling anthology series, American Horror Story, is on its way… but we will have to wait a little bit longer for the series to hit our screens.

FX has announced that American Horror Story: 1984 will premiere on September 18th!

Back in April, a teaser trailer was released, which revealed that the new season will be inspired by classic ‘80s slasher films like A Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th:

Although Ryan Murphy is usually very tight-lipped about the series, we do know that Emma Roberts will be returning, alongside Olympic skier turned actor Gus Kenworthy.

Unfortunately, fan favourite Even Peters will not returning for the ninth season, making this the first AHS series without the actor.

AHS: 1984 premieres this September 18th on Showcase
