All the TV and Film news from the Disney Expo D23

Over the weekend Disney spoke about and announced a slew of new TV and film projects at their D23 expo. Including projects from Marvel, Lucasfilm and Pixar. Catch up on all the new projects and everything they talked about below.

Marvel:

• Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania: New footage released to the crowd, will open in theatres on February 17.
• The Marvels: Sequel to Captain Marvel starring Brie Larson, Iman Vellani and Teyonah Parris got some footage shown to those in person. Expected to hit theatres July 28, 2023.
• Black Panther: Wakanda Forever: New footage released to crowd, will open in theatres November 11.
• Captain America: New World Order: New Captain America movie featuring Anthony Mackie as Captain America. Cast members Shira Haas and Tim Blake Nelson were also announced. Expected to hit theatres May 3, 2024.
• Fantastic Four: Matt Shakman has been confirmed to direct the film, having previously worked on WandaVision and Game of Thrones. Expected in theatres November 8, 2024.
• Thunderbolts: Marvels anti-hero team up film announced its cast including the likes of Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Hannah John-Kamen, Olga Kurylenko and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Expected to hit theatres July 26, 2024
• Ironheart: New TV series starring Dominique Thorne and Anthony Ramos. No release date yet.
• Secret Invasion: Full trailer released online. Disney+ series starring Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury. Expected sometime 2023.
• Armor Wars: New Disney+ series starring Don Cheadle as Col. James Rhodes. No release date yet.
• Loki Season 2: Ke Huy Quan joins the cast for its second season. No release date yet.
• Echo: New Disney+ series starring Alaqua Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio. No release date yet.
• Daredevil: Born Again: A soft reboot of the Netflix series featuring Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio coming to Disney+. Production will begin in 2023.
• Werewolf by Night: A Halloween style TV special starring Gael Garcia Bernal and Laura Donnelly releasing on October 7.

Lucasfilm:

• Indiana Jones 5: A trailer was shown to the crowd for the fifth film in the series starring Harrison Ford. Harrison Ford announced this would be the last time he would be playing the character.
• Willow: New trailer released online, a fantasy film which reimagines the original 1988 classic.
• Andor: Final trailer released for the Disney+ series starring Diego Luna. The series premieres on Disney+ September 21.
• The Mandalorian Season 3: New trailer released online for the third season of the Disney+ hit show starring Pedro Pascal.
• The Bad Batch: Season 2 of the animated Star Wars series was announced for a January 4 release date.
• Tales of the Jedi: A first trailer was released online for the short animated anthology series. The series premieres on Disney+ October 26.

Disney/Pixar:

• Mufasa: The Lion King: A live action prequel film, a preview was shown to those in attendance. Expected release in 2024
• The Little Mermaid: A live action adaptation of the animated classic. A new trailer released online and expected released in 2023.
• Hocus Pocus 2: New trailer released for the sequel set to premiere September 30.
• Disenchanted: First trailer released for the sequel set to premiere on Disney+ November 24.
• Peter Pan and Wendy: New film set for Disney+ in 2023.
• Haunted Mansion: Trailer show to those in person. Expected to released in 2023.
• Snow White: A live action remake of the animated original classic starring Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot. Expected to release in 2024.
• Elemental: Mamoudou Athie and Leah Lewis announced as leads for new pixar film releasing June 16.
• Elio: New Pixar film about making contact with an alien race will be released in 2024.
• Inside Out 2: Sequel announced for the hit Pixar film, Amy Poehler set to return. Will be released 2024.
• Strange World: New trailer released online for new Disney feature film. Will be released in theatres November 23.
• Wish: Walt Disney Animation Studios’ next original feature film. Expected 2023
• American Born Chinese: New original series to be released in 2023.
• Big Shot: Season 2 of the show with John Stamos set to premiere October 12.
• Iwaju: New TV series created as a love letter to Lagos, Nigeria. Expected in 2023.
• The Muppets Mayhem: Comedy series focused on the Muppets expected in 2023.
• National Treasure: Edge of History: A TV series spin-off from the movies of the same name featuring a new and younger cast. Set to premiere December 14.
• Prom Pact: New movie from Disney Television/
• The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder: Season 2 to be released in February.
• Win or Lose: First ever longform series by Pixar. Expected premiere in 2023.
• Zootopia+: New TV series expected November 9.
• Marvel’s Moongirl and Devil Dinosaur: Animated TV series set to release February 10.
• Under Wraps 2: Sequel from Disney Television premieres on September 25.
• Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures: New animated series for Disney Junior set to premiere 2023.
