Adelaide’s Lady Burra Brewhouse will tomorrow be launching a special edition beer to help support Australia farmers who have suffered from drought and strawberry needle tampering.

Lady Burra Brewhouse’s Head Brewer, Eliot Kirby, has created a beer which combines the company’s session ale with blended strawberries!

“We added 20 kilos of fresh strawberries to a brew of session ale after four days of primary fermentation,” says Eliot Kirby.

“The process creates a brew featuring a strong strawberry nose, which is mildly bitter, with a refreshing strawberry tartness and a creamy finish. It is the perfect beer for the warmer weather!”

For every Strawberry Beer sold, the bar will donate $1 to Aussie Helpers, a Queensland based charity which fights poverty and aims to help those severely affected by drought.

“Farmers across the country have encountered many hardships this year with the drought and the strawberry crisis,” says Cheryl Piteo, General Manager of Lady Burra Brewhouse.

“We are pleased to be able to help any way we can, especially by producing a delicious and unique beer.”

Lady Burra Brewhouse’s Strawberry Beer is available on tap for a limited time from Friday, October 19th.
