Two 24-year-old men are due in court today over the alleged torture of a man at a Southport mechanic workshop last week.

The 26-year-old from Loganholme was allegedly kidnapped by 16 men on Wednesday January 5, tied up and assaulted.

He told police he had paint thinner poured on him and his groin cut, before he managed to escape through a window.

Two men from Kuraby and Mermaid Waters will front the Southport Magistrates Court on Thursday charged with torture, assault occasioning bodily harm, deprivation of liberty and armed robbery.

They're the fourth and fifth people to be charged over the incident.

A 24-year-old man faced court last week, while another 24-year-old and a 30-year-old from Mermaid Waters were charged on Wednesday morning and went before a magistrate later that day.
