A Currajong man who was not licenced to tattoo people, has faced Townsville Magistrates Court.

He opened the illegal business to make extra cash from his house during 2017 into 2018.

The cashies have not paid off though, and have resulted in the man having to dish out cash for his fines, handed down from Magistrate Peter Smid.

Police became aware of the situation after a parent of the 17-year-old girl, who had been tattooed by the man, raised the alarm.

From here Police analyzed text messages on the man's phone, which were evidence of agreements between the man and his clients who said they would give him cash for the jobs.

Four of the jobs were conducted on minors, with a further six ink jobs carried out on adults.

The ten counts of home jobs have seen the man slapped with fines adding up to $5,000 for conducting an illegal business.
