A huge relief for farmers and producers in the Burnett Region with drought declarations for Cherbourg and both the North and South Burnett having been announced effective immediately.
The region has been named in the list of Queensland areas in need of Government assistance.
Ag Minister Bill Burns says he had not hesitation in making the call.
An updated version of the drought-declared map will be available next week.
