Bendigo Soldiers Memorial Institute

A number of Central Victorian projects have been named as finalists for the 2018 Premier’s sustainability awards.

The Bendigo Soldiers Memorial Institute project by the City of Greater Bendigo, Lovell Chan and Nicholson Engineering has been nominated for the Built Environment Award because it is the first government building in Australia built to Passive House standards.

While the Gannawarra Solar Farm west of Kerang has seen the Gannawarra Shire Council nominated for a Government award for its strategic approach to nature based tourism, renewable energy and innovative agriculture.

The Memorandum of Understanding between the Dja-Dja Wurrung and GWMWater over the 1300km South-West Loddon Pipeline has been nominated for an Environmental Justice award.

The 10 category winners plus the 2 overall winners will be announced on October 11th in Melbourne.
