14 Y/O Girl Targeted In Windale Sexual Assault

An investigation is underway after a 14-year-old girl was targeted in a terrifying sexual assault in Windale.
Police say the teenager was dragged into bushland and attacked by a man armed with a knife near Yertala Close after getting off a bus at the Pacific Highway near South Street at around 3:30pm yesterday afternoon.
Her attacker then took off in a silver car.
Detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad and Lake Macquarie Police District have established Strike Force Kielpa to investigate the incident, with a crime scene set up in the area.
Local police are also conducting a high-visibility policing operation throughout the area.
