Australian Idol may be a thing of the past, but we’ll always remember some of the greatest, lowest and most shocking moments from the show.

For example: when IanDickoDickson shamed Paulini Curuenavuli for her outfit choice…

Post

Paulina absolutely aced the song, but her performance wasn’t the focus of Dicko’s attention, as he proceeded to shame her outfit choice and weight.

Dicko chimed in with comments, saying, “I though that was a little bit breathless and horrid, that performance.

"And also, this is really hard for me to say, but it’s the real world, you should choose more appropriate clothes or shed some pounds. I’m sorry."

The audience was so shocked with his comments, especially with how amazing her performance was.

Plus, she looked like a star…

Dicko received massive backlash for his comments at the time, but 13 years later he has finally come out with his version of an apology.

Instead of criticising her talents and singing capabilities, Dicko is now praising her.

In a recent interview he revealed, “I cannot believe that it was 13 years ago that I said those 11 mundane words that sent the Australian media into meltdown.

“I was trying to be nice at the time, can you believe, but I’m glad that you’ve gone on to do such great things.

“I’m a little jealous actually because at that time, those little cruel words that I said turned you and me into Australian reality TV’s power couple.

"Think of what we could have achieved together. In fact, right now you’re doing The Bodyguard. It should be me carrying you in my arms through the rain as that song plays. You in the gold dress for old times sake, me wearing a hernia support because I’m not getting any younger.

"What I want to say is, I’m so proud of you girl, you go get ’em."

Paulini was taken aback by his comments, but we’re not too sure of how genuine his words were, as there seemed no real apology as to his cruel comments in his supposed ‘apology’.

Is it better late than never? Or should his ‘apology’ should have been deeper than this?
