Australia has been captivated by the feud of Anthony Mundine and Danny Green, who will be reunited on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here’ this Sunday night.
However, this TV event was almost unravelled on Thursday morning when Fifi, Fev & Byron’s Brendan Fevola revealed that the two boxing rivals were actually friends. The claims had the whole country talking.
On Friday morning’s show, co-host Fifi Box said Danny Green had actually heard Fev’s comments as he prepared for his jungle debut and read the athlete’s response on air.
“I’m scratching my head at the completely false statements Brendan has made,” Green said in a statement.
“His claims are quite bizarre. Anyone who knows me or Anthony knows full well the ill feeling we have towards each other.
“The biggest rivalry in Australian sport for two decades can not be contrived. Fevola has completely fabricated this story… for what reason, I do not know.”
Fevola backed up his comments, reiterating the pair had a civil interaction in a hotel room. He said they aren’t ‘best mates’ but dislike each other in the ring when they fight.
Co-host Fifi Box joked that she wanted to distance herself from Fevola who she said he ‘had picked quite the nemesis’
