Hit reality show ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here’ got Australia talking last night when Bernard Tomic made a shock exit after three days on the African jungle set.

Fifi, Fev & Byron’s Brendan Fevola, who won the 2016 season, spoke of the situation on Wednesday morning, making it clear he was in Tomic’s corner.

“Three days [on the show] are very long. Each day feels like a week, and you’ve got a lot of time to think. I thought about a lot of things in there, and it helped me become a better person.

“I think Tomic realised that… he says he doesn’t love tennis, but deep down that’s his passion, and he wanted to get out. He knows if he stays in the jungle for a certain amount of time, he won’t be able to play tennis when he gets out.”

Fevola mentioned Courtney Hancock, who had lost around 6 kilos during her stay on the show. If she had stayed longer, the Ironwoman champion wouldn’t have been able to compete to the best of her ability.

“I hope [Tomic] gets out and is surrounded by people who love him and will help him. I hope he gets out on the other side, plays tennis and goes on to be a top 10 player in the world. He needs some people in his bunker.

“He shouldn’t have gone in there, I don’t know how he got through the psych test.”

Fifi Box sympathised with the tennis star, agreeing that Tomic was right to walk and hopes he gets the help he needs.
