It melts our hearts when we see selfless acts around town, and when it's from a child we're overwhelmed.
It's becoming a trend for children to be ditching exciting, sparkly birthday gifts, and requesting donations instead on their special day.
The most recent case was 10-year-old Violet making a sizeable donation to Townsville animal rescue service, Angel Paws.
Instead of requesting a long list of prezzies for her 10th birthday, Violet asked her loved ones for donations to support the animals instead.
Violet gave Angel Paws bags of dog and cat food plus $80 cash to make a difference to their lives.
Townsville teen Leyton Clifford has proven his support to local animals time and time again with his most recent donation of over $1000 worth of goodies to the RSPCA, for the 4th year running.
