AWARD WORTHY!

Off Duty Police Officer Saves Eldery Couple From Mundingburra Housefire

Mundingburra Police Officer Matt Woodham could be nominated for an award after his actions on Tuesday afternoon.

The officer ran into a burning O'Reilly Street home, not once but twice yesterday to save the elderly occupants.

He was off duty at the time and took action after seeing no other emergency services on scene.

Matt's coworkers have praised him for his heroic actions in saving the couple aged in their eighties.

Before emergency services controlled the blaze, black smoke could be seen as far away as Garbutt and Railway Estate.
