Council Have Launched Their New Animal Adoption Program Today

As of today, if you want to adopt a pet through Townsville City Council, you'll have to jump online first.

The process has launch and starts online for anyone looking for a new fluffy family member.

To adopt through Council firstly you have to look online for available dogs and cats, and book in an appointment to see if all parties are a good fit.

At the moment cats are $90 to adopt, and dogs are $250 to call your own.

To formally adopt an animal, a pre-adoption application must be submitted to Townsville City Council for assessment, whereby a suitable applicant will be approved.

To meet, adopt or find out more information on an animal you can contact 13 48 10 or 0457 769 362 to book an appointment Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm and on weekends 9am to 2pm (Closed on Public Holidays).

An identification and rental agreement will be required in the process also.
