Winter is well and truly here, and deciding on fun things to do can be tricky because it's just so darn cold! Well, we've got great news... you don't need to travel to the opposite side of the world for a natural hot spring!
It's easy to get through the colder months by doing the bare minimum, and if you ARE going to do something, you need it to be stress free and most importantly, warm.
So, this winter, grab your pals, pack some sambos, and head to these three incredible natural hot springs you didn't know we had in NSW!
Lightning Ridge Bore Baths

These pools maintain a piping temperature between 40 - 50 degrees °C! The water comes from the two million-year-old Great Artesian Basin.
Where: Pandora Street, Lightning Ridge
When: The pool doesn't close except between 10am - 12pm daily for cleaning.
Cost: Free
Yarrangobilly Caves Thermal Pool
It's a short but well-worth it walk to this one. A little bit cooler, this thermal pool sits at a beautiful 27°C. The pool is visited all year around, however, if you go in these cooler months, you could be lucky enough to watch the steam rise from the pool, while surrounded by a blanket of snow on the ground around you.
Where: Snowy Mountains Highway, Kosciuszko National Park, a 700m (steep) walk from the carpark.
When: 9-5pm daily.
Cost: Park entry fees apply. Cars $29 per day, motorbikes $12 per day.
Burren Junction Bore Baths
One of the two main attractions in Burren Junction (the other being a hotel), this bath also sources its water from the Great Artesian Basin and maintains a steamy 41.5 °C temperature!
Where: Kamilaroi Highway, Burren Junction
When: Open always!
Cost: Free!
Let us know how you go if you visit any of these!
