Search Underway For Missing Swimmer After Group Jumped Off Bridge In Sydney's South

A search is underway after a swimmer went missing in the Sutherland area today.

According to NSW Police, emergency services were called to the water near Como Railway Bridge, just north of Como Marina at approximately 1.35pm.

Officers from the Sutherland Local Area Command also attended the scene.

It is understood that a number of people were jumping off the bridge when a 23-year-old man went missing.

A search and rescue operation is underway, involving police from Sutherland and the Marine Area Command, NSW Ambulance paramedics and the Ambulance Rescue helicopter.

 

UPDATE (6pm): Police have confirmed that a body has been found which is believed to be that of the missing man.
