A man who was riding in the back of an ambulance after breaking his leg during a soccer final has been slapped with a $439 red-light camera fine.
This is despite the fact that the man was 50kms away from the place of the alleged traffic offence at the time noted on the fine.
For Ben Hoenig, a car ran a red light in Bradbury in Sydney's south-west, while he was in an ambulance in Alexandria.
According to Nine News, Revenue NSW claims that just 0.2 per cent of camera-detected penalties are issued each year.
That works out to be 1260 fines sent out to the incorrect recipient.
