Man Arrested After BASE Jumping Off A Crane In Darling Harbour AAP

A man has been arrested after BASE jumping from a crane in Darling Harbour in the early hours of this morning.

According to NSW Police, a 24-year-old French national allegedly broke into a construction site on Wheat Road at about 3.15am before reportedly climbing to the top of a crane.

Police allege that the man then set up a recording device and jumped, parachuting across "several lanes of traffic and Darling Harbour" and eventually landing on Darling Drive in Pyrmont.

Darling Harbour Rangers then apprehended the man, who was arrested and taken to Sydney City police station and charged with enter inclosed land and risk safety of other by abseiling/ jumping off building/ structure.

He was granted conditional bail and is due to appear in court Wednesday October 17.
