It’s well and truly time to rug up. Winter is officially here and Sydney is expected to cop it pretty bad over the next few days.
Our temp is also expected to drop to a minimum of 9 degrees with a large amount of rain to begin to fall on Sunday.
We are set to receive over 30cm's of rain in just a few days.
Our popular snowfields are also expected to get their ski season underway.
Experts are saying that least five centimetres of snow will fall on the NSW and Victorian fields on Saturday.
According to BOM forecaster, Rob Kruisheer, “The ski resorts did have a really good early season with a dump before the Queen's birthday but there hasn't been one since and that was four weeks ago.”
Adding, “While they have been able to use artificial snow to give them a lift the high pressure system has been keeping things warm so this will certainly give them a top-up before the school holidays.”
Perisher and Mt Hotham are looking at temperatures between -2 to 3 degrees for the weekend.
The forecast for Sydney is also looking pretty damn chilly.
- Thursday : Min 8, partly cloudy.

- Saturday : Min 9, partly cloudy.
- Sunday : Min 9, possible morning rain.
