You may be in for a free bus ride today, with some bus routes turning off their Opal readers and walking off the job for an hour in a pay dispute strike.
This comes as Busways staff push for a wage increase recommended by the Transport Workers Union of NSW, which Busways has deemed 'unrealistic' for the western Sydney drivers.
The union has said that drivers have been left with no option but to strike over the issues with reaching a 'fair' new enterprise agreement.
Union members will walk off the job for an hour from Blacktown, Penrith and Windsor depots between 12pm and 1pm.
Some passengers will receive free trips with union members turning off Opal card readers throughout the day.
