A 45-year-old woman has been charged after allegedly robbing a cancer patient while at a clinic, forcing her to reveal her PIN number.
The 77-year-old cancer patient had attended The Hospital for Specialist Surgery in Baulkham Hills on March 16 when a woman entered the room and began going through her bags.
According to the Hills Shire Times, police allege that the woman took two credit cards and then physically restrained the patient.
The patient sustained deep tissue bruising all over her body during the incident.
It is understood that the woman then went to a nearby shopping centre and withdrew money from the victim's account.
The 45-year-old woman was arrested by police this morning at a Bungarribee home.
She has been charged with aggravated robbery, knowingly deal with the proceeds of crime, and dishonesty obtain financial advantage.
The woman will remain in custody and will appear in Blacktown Local Court this afternoon.
