Producers hoping for rain this Spring!

Sunraysia farmers are keeping a keen eye on weather conditions after most of the state received just under half of its average August rainfall - in the driest winter in four years.

The state usually records 5 to 25 milliliters of rain throughout winter.
The Department of Primary Industries says across the state with 44% of the average rainfall was recorded over the period.

It’s prompted concerns for winter crop prospects, with significant rainfall needed to counteract the slow start.
The DPI predicts winter crop prospects have declined.

Though here in Sunraysia ours do still have a chance if we get above average rainfall from now through to November.
