A 26-year-old will face Broken Hill Local Court today, in relation to the alleged stabbing of his father overnight.
Barrier District Police and emergency services were called to a home on Wadsworth Drive, Gol Gol, shortly after 6pm on Thursday, August 16th.
Officers report they found a 59-year-old man inside the home suffering from stab wounds.
Despite the best efforts from Ambulance Victoria paramedics, the man died at the scene.
A crime scene has been established and is being examined by specialist forensic officers.
Strike Force Kotukus has been established to investigate the circumstances surrounding the man's death, detectives from Barrier Police District being assisted by the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad.
The 26-year-old man at the home has been taken to Dareton Police Station, charged with murder.
He has been refused bail to appear in Broken Hill Local Court.
