This week is a week to thank carers across Sunraysia as National Carers Week continues.
From the 15th to the 21st of October, officials are working to raise awareness of the work unpaid careers do across the region.
It's estimated 1 in 8 Australians provide unpaid care and support to a family member or friend with a disability, mental illness, chronic condition, terminal illness or who is frail aged.
Groups across the country are working to organise an afternoon tea, fundraiser or workshop to raise awareness for the diversity of carers and the roles they perform.
There are currently 2.7 million carers, with around 272,000 carers of those under the age of 25.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics has revealed the cost of replacing unpaid carers is estimate at 60.3 billion.
