Mildura Police speak out against CBD violence.

Mildura Police have voiced rising concerns for the level of violence in the CBD

The calls come after a number of incidents on Langtree Avenue.

Several people have been rendered unconscious as the result of "coward punches" or being beaten whilst laying on the ground.

One incident saw a group of approximately 15 involved in a wild brawl, that resulted in multiple injuries and the sustained deployment of OC spray by Police.

Officers have called for assistance from the Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation, with hopes that the Commission will initiate a review.

Inspector John Nolan says controlling the drunken and violent behavior of people in the CBD places an unreasonable draw on ambulance, police and hospital resources; it's something unsustainable and unacceptable.

It's hoped the VCGLR will initiate a review of trading hours for some late night venues in an attempt to curb the violence.
