Mildura Police crack down on drink and drug drivers!

Mildura Police have slammed those who choose to drink and drug drive in our region, after nabbing a number of drivers across the weekend.

 

Highway Patrol officers intercepted a 23-year-old Merbein male and administered a breath test.

 

He allegedly returned a positive reading of 0.101.

 

The driver has had his probationary license immediately suspended, and has been issued with a $674 fine.

 

Officers received a number of calls from the public in relation to a vehicle driving erratically in Mildura.

Police attended and located a 40-year-old Mildura male, who was later administered a breath test.

 

He allegedly returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.182, and has been charged with traffic offenses, as well as alleged family violence offences that are believed to have occured on the same evening.

 

A 29-year-old Red Cliffs male was stopped on Fitzroy Avenue in Red Cliffs, allegedly driving 75 km/hr in a 60 zone.

 

He was administered an oral fluid test, which reportedly returned an indication of a banned substance.

 

The sample will be sent for further analysis.

 

Mildura Police are reminding locals they will always take a zero tolerance approach to drink and drug driving.
