A funding injection from the State Government has supported the establishment of the Prevention and Recovery Care facility.
The Andrews Labor Government has provided 4.3 million dollars for a new purpose-built facility supporting those with mental illness.
Officials hope the facility's 24 hour support from clinicians will help with substance abuse as well as providing treatment for mental illness.
The facility will feature a home-like environment with 10 beds.
The Care facility will be ran in partnership between Mildura Base Hospital ans a community-based organisation; that is yet confirmed.
Officials are also hoping the establishment of the facility will cut down on travel costs for locals seeking specialist treatment.
The Prevention and Recovery Care Facility will be open in Mildura before Christmas.
