Nationals Member for Mildura Peter Crisp has tabled a petition in parliament; travelling to meet Ministers with members of the Belej Family.
The petition focuses on tougher sentences for violent criminals; a response to the recent sentence of Brandon Osborn.
Karen was shot and killed by her boyfriend Osborne, with the Crown accepting a guilty plea for manslaughter.
Around 9000 people have signed the petition.
Karen's brothers Tim and Chris have met with the Leader of the Opposition Matthew Guy to discuss the campaign.
Mr Crisp said in Parliament family violence effects a staggering number of people of people -men, women and children are victims on abuse in the places thy should feel most safe - in their own homes.
