Oil Rig Leaves Perth

That large oil rig that's been a part of the Perth coastal skyline all summer is moving on.

The almost 40,000 tonne Ocean Monarch drilling rig will be towed on a 25 day journey to Bass Strait.

It'll be slow going, as the vessels towing it will be travelling at about three knots.

The rig was based off City Beach for about three months for maintenance work.
