RBT Leads to Drug Bust in Blacksmiths

The 37-year-old is facing 10 charges.

A random breath test in Blacksmiths has led to a man being arrested for gun and drug offences.

About 2am on Saturday police patrolling the Pacific Highway pulled over a Mitsubishi Triton for an RBT.

A search of the ute allegedly turned up tablets believed to be MDMA, officers arresting the 37-year-old driver.

Detectives then raided two hotel rooms on the Pacific Highway at Little Pelican, allegedly uncovering ammunition, a sawn off shotgun, a .22 calibre rifle, cannabis, ice, MDMA and drug manufacturing equipment.

He's facing ten charges including drug possession, supply and guns and ammunitions charges to front Newcastle court on Sunday.
