Drive-Thru Road Rage In Heatherbrae

A man has been charged after things became violent in the drive-thru line of a Heatherbrae fast food restaurant.

Police allege a 22-year-old man followed another driver into the queue and began hurling obscenities at him following a minor traffic incident on the Pacific Highway on Saturday.

He's then got out of his car and grabbed the man by the throat while he was trying to order.

The victim pried himself free with help from bystanders before his alleged attacker took off.

Witnesses took down the registration of the car and a man was arrested shortly after in Raymond Terrace.

He's been charged with common assault and handed conditional bail ahead of facing court on October 9.
