Today we announced our Best Ever Bucket List winners will be doing something very magical while in London… They are going to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour to see The Making of Harry Potter. The real sets, props, costumes... we’re so jealous!
To help make your trip even more magical, we’ve tracked down the must go-to spots in London where the iconic film series was shot.
1. Kings Cross Station
It is here that Harry boarded the magnificent Hogwarts Express. Today Platform 9¾ is marked with a trolley stuck in the wall, positioned for the perfect photo opportunity.
2. Leadenhall Market
This beautiful shopping precinct is the home to a number of magical shopfronts – including the entrance to the Leaky Cauldron.
3. Great Scotland Yard
This intersection has been used as the entrance to the Ministry of Magic and is a hotspot for Potter fans.
4. London Zoo’s Reptile House
We can’t guarantee that you’ll run into any talking snakes, but you’ll be able to see exactly where Harry had one of his first magical experiences.
5. St Pancras Station
Even though Platform 9¾ is at Kings Cross, the exterior shots were taken outside St Pancras. It’s a very beautiful building.
7. Australia House
Looks like us Aussies have dipped our hand in the J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World and we didn’t even know it! The scenes at Gringotts Bank were shot in our London based High Commission. The interior is so magnificent, the public isn’t allowed to go in!
8. Claremont Square
Need the Order of the Phoenix in a hurry? Head to 12 Grimmauld Place to find the secret hideout!
9. Lambeth Bridge
Be careful as you go over, you might have to squeeze between two buses!
and many, many more!
