A history making SnowFactory at Mt Buller means we'll be able to hit the snow earlier and for longer.
There will be guaranteed snow at Mt Buller for the opening weekend of the ski season in June thanks to a new fancy-pants machine.
Testing on the revolutionary Snowfactory was underway on Thursday, with locals and guests able to hit the slopes for the day and ski down Bourke Street.
But it's only March you say?
Yes, but this cool refrigerated system can make snow at temps up to 15 degrees so that there is guaranteed ski-able terrain on June 10 Opening Weekend.
The Snowfactory can produce over 200 cubic metres of snow daily in temperatures up to 15 degrees and official snow making will be underway in May.
Ordinarily, Mt Buller has not seen snowfalls until later in the season due to Australia's unpredictable weather.
