Nearly one in three La Trobe University students have been sexually harassed.
A survey of 31,000 Australian students was released yesterday, showed one in five university students has experienced sexual harassment in a university setting.
Include in the study were 947 students from Melbourne’s La Trobe University. The study showed 30 per cent of students at the Uni had been sexually harassed at university - the highest numbers in Victoria.
24 percent of students said they had been sexually harassed on campus grounds in 2016.
Swinburne university had some of the lowest rates of sexual harassment and assault in Victoria – 17 per cent of students said they had been sexually harassed and0.2 per cent of students reported they were sexually assaulted, 12 per cent reporting they were sexually harassed on university grounds.
More than 90 per cent of those harassed at all universities said they did not make an official report about their abuse.
Bond University and Australian National University topped the list, with 38% of students saying they had been sexually harassed.
