Get ready for a wet and wild weekend Melbourne!
The Bureau of Metreology is warning residents to get their washing done before the weekend, with wind and rain expected to lash the state on Saturday and Sunday.
“People who have any washing should get it done today because the weather is gonna change,” senior forecaster Michael Efron said.
While Friday is shaping up to be a “perfect day” for the city showers will hit in on Saturday.
“We’ve got showers developing early on Saturday but the bulk of the rain is going to fall in the afternoon.
“It’s the most rain we have had in a couple of months with 10mm due in the Melbourne area,” Mr Efron explained.
The rain is also expected to bring relieve to some fire-affected communities in the state.
Sunday will see winds with gusts of 30km/h to 50km/hr.
