Only so many of us can handle the punch of a hot chilli. The burning session can send people over the edge, make us weep or worse. However, some people have a knack for it and they are going to show off their skills in March.
The Be.East and Melbourne Hot Sauce are once again joining forces for the third annual Melbourne Chilli Eating Championship.
24 contestants will go head to head in a 12 round KO test. They’ll eat some of the hottest chillis in the world including the infamous Carolina Reaper. It could get worse… last year’s finalists had to eat the ‘Chilli Turducken’, which is a Carolina Reaper stuffed inside a Trinidad Scorpion stuff inside a Habanero and served on a bed of Ghost Pepper paste. Ouch.
If you’re looking to get in on the action, the bar will be serving Grim Reaper Hot Shots, a ghost chilli infused tequila drink. Luckily, there will be pints of milk at the bar.
