Victoria is in for a hot, windy weekend.
Winds topping 100km/h and temperatures in the mid to high thirties will keep beachgoers happy and firefighters on edge with the highest bushfire conditions in a year forecast.
Victoria's recent dry spell has further elevated the fire risk, which could be high depending on the timing of an expected cold front.
"If that front is delayed and comes through late afternoon or Sunday evening, we're looking at very hot conditions developing ahead of that front and gusty northerly winds," said Senior Meteorologist Dean Stewart. "It could be a particularly nasty day."
Sunday's fire danger is tipped to be severe.
