Police are questioning a man after shots were allegedly fired at Point Cook.
Several residents said the area was placed into lockdown when heavily armed officers arrived just after 5:30pm.
No one was injured while police are currently searching for a weapon after locating shell casings.
They are also looking for a second man who may have been in the area at the time.
The nature of the incident is yet to be determined but it's believed the pair are known to each other.
VICTORIA POLICE STATEMENT:
Police are investigating after a firearms incident in Point Cook this evening.
It is believed a number of shots were fired in the vicinity of Adelphi Boulevard just after 5.30pm.
No one has been injured and police are currently searching for a weapon after locating shell casings.
One man is currently assisting police with their enquiries and the exact circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be determined.
Investigators are yet to locate a second man who may have been in the area at the time of the incident and parties are believed to be known to each other.
