A Truck Carrying Twenty Tonnes of Chicken Nuggets Crashes In Epping

A truck loaded with 20 tonnes of chicken nuggets has crashed into a car and flipped on its side on a Melbourne highway, sparking major traffic delays.

The B-double truck hit a car parked in the city-bound emergency stopping lane of the Hume Highway at Epping just before midnight on Thursday.

The truck crashed through the centre median barriers and flipped onto its side, before coming to rest across the northbound lanes.

The truck driver was not injured and the stationary car wasn't occupied.

Twenty tonnes of chicken nuggets will need to be unloaded from the truck for it to be overturned.

Three fire trucks are on the scene working to clear about 1400 litres of diesel which spilt from the truck.

Northbound lanes will be closed to traffic for several hours during morning peak hour, VicRoads said.
