Police have arrested three people in Harrietville this afternoon as part of an ongoing investigation into the death of a man in Shepparton last Friday.
The trio, an 18-year-old male, a 17-year-old male and a 17-year-old female, were intercepted in a vehicle on the East Ovens Track near Howmans Lane about 12.50pm.
The three will now be interviewed by detectives from the Homicide Squad.
The arrests follow the death of a 43-year-old man in Shepparton on 27 July.
The Homicide Squad has taken over the investigation into the death of a Shepparton man on Friday night.
Emergency services arrived at the scene in Poplar Avenue following reports of a 43-year-old man being struck by a vehicle shortly before 11pm, Friday 27thJuly.
It is suspected that the man was at the location for a set meeting. He was then involved in a dispute with three teenagers, where he was assaulted. The trio involved left the area before police arrived.
The assault caused the man to be on the roadway where he was struck by a vehicle. The woman driving the vehicle stopped to help and paramedics worked on him, however the man died at the scene.
Detectives from the Homicide Squad and the Major Collision Unit visited the scene yesterday. Homicide Squad detectives have now formally taken over the investigation.
