A 40-year-old man accused of crashing into a Strathmerton fish and chip shop and assaulting police officers this week has had his bail application revoked.

Police reports suggest the man became irate when officers were called to the scene on Monday night, with the man allegedly refusing a breath test and spitting at authorities.

The Shepparton News reports Bradley Slade, of no fixed address, will spend over a month behind bars as he awaits his next court date.
