Yesterday afternoon, Damian Drum MP turned the first sod on Stage 2 of the Echuca-Moama Bridge project. The project is a part of the Federal Government’s $97 million investment to deliver a new crossing, set to be completed in 2021.
Major works on Stage 1 at the Warren Street Roundabout were officially completed yesterday, and Stage 2 will focus on upgrading Warren Street.
The ceremony of ‘turning the first sod’ is a traditional celebration marking the first day of a construction or building project. Members of the Victorian and NSW Government, as well as Murray River and Campaspe Councils, and members of the local Indigenous community attended to support the project.
