Warning Light On Gold Coast's Tallest Tower Goes Out

Pilots are being warned to steer well-clear of the Q1.

The aircraft warning light at the very tip of the skyscraper's spire has gone out, with its backup also out of action, following a lightning strike late last month.

According to Nine News Gold Coast, the original light was up there for 12 years, before a new bulb was installed just a few months ago.

Now a couple of brave sparkies have to make the dizzying climb back up to change it once again.
