War Movie Featuring Vikings Star To Be Filmed In Queensland

Yet another Hollywood blockbuster is going to be filmed in Queensland.

Danger Close is set during the Battle of Long Tan in the Vietnam War, and will star Vikings and Warcraft actor Travis Fimmel.

It's promising to tell the true story of young men facing the strange, contradictory and brutal truths of war.

The movie is being produced by former Australian Special Forces commando Martin Walsh, who is organising a special memorial service on-set with Long Tan veterans when shooting gets underway around Anzac Day this year.

It's still unclear where exactly the film will be shot in Queensland, but Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has promised the Village Roadshow Sound Stage at Oxenford will be used following the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
