The search for a missing plane continues south of the border this morning.
Police and SES crews combed bushland between Tyalgum and Chillingham yesterday afternoon while helicopters circled above.
It's after a farmer reportedly spotted the light aircraft in trouble near Limpinwood around 10:45 on Tuesday morning, apparently with a broken wing.
The plane took off from the Murwillumbah Airport about 45 minutes earlier, and a friend of the 72-year-old pilot reported him missing after he failed to reach his destination by 2pm as planned.
He was the sole occupant of the aircraft.
It's thought the green-coloured aircraft may be camoflaged amongst the trees.
