Police have given the all clear at Palm Beach Currumbin State High School, after a suspicious package was found at the education facility this morning.
Emergency crews were called to the school on Thrower Drive around 6am, with reports of an envelope containing a white powder.
The building was placed into lockdown while officers combed it for any more suspicious items and parents of PBC students received a text message from the school a short time later, that said it was shut until further notice.
However, Education Queensland said the school remained open, with arriving students and staff waiting out on the oval until police wrapped up their investigation.
QPS declared the area safe shortly before 9:00 and PBC principal Blair Hanna posted the following message to the school's Facebook page.
Investigations into substance and its origin continue.
