Four people have died in a tragic 24 hours on our roads.
An elderly couple was killed in a three car crash on Waterford-Tamborine Rd, Buccan on Sunday morning.
Police said the couple's car crossed onto the wrong side of the road around 10:30, smashing into a four-wheel-drive, causing it to flip.
Another vehicle then collided with the 4WD.
The man and woman, both aged 81, died at the scene, while five other people from the other two vehicles, including two children, were taken to hospital for treatment.
Just hours later south of the border, a car with four people in it crashed into a cement bridge on the M1 at Cudgera Creek.
Two women, aged 64 and 46, were killed in the smash around 4:20pm, while a 14-year-old boy and 47-year-old man were hurt.
They were airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.
The horror 24-hours continued on Monday morning with a truck rollover at Woongoolba to the north of the Gold Coast.
The driver the vehicle was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition after the smash around 6am.
Motorists weren't the only ones injured on our roads over the weekend, a skateboarder was fighting for life in hospital on Sunday night, after coming off his board in Holmview.
He apparently wasn't wearing his helmet, and smashed his head on the ground on Ridgeway Blvd, suffering critical head injuries..
