UPDATE: Man arrested over brutal bashing and car theft

UPDATE: The second man wanted over the brutal bashing and carjacking of a woman in Southport has been arrested.

Dylan Slingsby was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon, after the other man was arrested following a car chase through Coolangatta earlier that day.

EARLIER: Police are appealing to the public to find a man allegedly involved in a violent car jacking at Southport.

Dylan Slingsby (pictured) was wanted for questioning over the brutal assault of a woman in an underground apartment car park in Marine Parade early Wednesday morning.

Police said the 54-year-old drove her Mercedes into the car park, before being punched several times in the face by a man who then stole her car.

The stolen vehicle was found in Coolangatta, along with one man who was taken into custody.

They also wanted to speak to Mr Slingsby, and anyone who sees him are urged not to approach him and contact police immediately.
