Gold Coast man caught with pills at Splendour

A Gold Coast man in due to face court in Tweed Heads today, after allegedly getting caught dealing drugs at Splendour in the Grass.

Police claim the 21-year-old was found with more than 60 ecstasy pills on him on Sunday night.

He was taken to the Byron Bay Police Station and charged with supplying and possessing a prohibited drug.

He wasn't the only one caught with drugs at the three-day music festival' all up, 267 people were found in possession of illegal substances, including cannabis, ice, MDMA and cocaine.

Of those, 76 were issued with cautions and more than 142 handed court attendance notices, while 12 people were slugged with the more serious charge of drug supply.

Infringement notices were also handed to another 65 people caught trying to sneak into the event without a ticket.

However, police said they were pretty pleased with the behaviour of most of the 32,000 festival-goers each day of the event.
