Dangerous algal bloom in water at Botanic Gardens

An algal bloom has been detected at the lakes in the Botanic Gardens at Benowa.

Signage has been installed by Gold Coast City Council to let people know about the dangers, as some algal species can release toxins.

Residents and visitors are asked to avoid letting the lake water contact their skin, and make sure pets don't jump in or drink the water.
